While there, a documentary producer shot a video interview of both Streetcar 304 and Nail 69 and he is now trying to find funding for a full documentary about the rescue story. Become friends with Kenny Wayne Fields now on "Facebook".... Click at right for award photo: THE RESCUE OF STREETCAR 304 Read what's on Kenny's mind.... Kenny's publisher has just released a "trade" soft paper-back version which is now available in retail stores and on-line at amazon.com, etc. It's cheaper than the hardback...of course...but it's full size. While signing books at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in DC, Kenny was told by the staff that his book was/is, "the top selling book at the museum for 2007 and thus far in 2008".... Wow... "The Rescue of Streetcar 304" achieved its highest book sales ranking ever on Amazon.com on February 25th, #2 out of over 7,000 available military aviation book titles....and appeared in the top five again in mid-October. Thank you readers!!! Two new pages have been added to the site. Check out the Valentine Day Story Page and the USS America Page (select on menu to left....) Kenny did a TV interview about the book with Channel 5, WCYB-TV in Bristol, Va. at 12:30p.m. on Thursday, January 10th. You might still be able to view it on WCYB-TV, "archives page". Kenny's publisher has released a "fourth printing".... Scan the book review page to read a couple of the latest comments that Kenny routinely receives from readers. Sales ranking bounces around at the on-line book stores and is questionable at best, so take for what it's worth... but, during the week of January 1st, "The Rescue of Streetcar 304" topped out on Amazon.com at #4 best selling among all---nearly 7,000---military aviation history books. Kenny's live, in studio interview with Keith Larson at Charlotte's WBT, 1110AM radio station on December 13th really motivated folks to attend his book signing at the Concord Mills Mall, Books-a-Million store on Saturday (15th). Buyers were waiting for Kenny when he showed up at the store, and the total sales for the day put Kenny in third place among all authors for book signings at the store...only exceeded by Jimmy Carter and Charles Frasier ( Cold Mountain). And, more listeners showed up at the Border's bookstore in Huntersville on the 22nd where all books sold out early. Kenny signed books AGAIN at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museums on November 23rd and 24th. That was his third visit there since July...but, they keep asking him back because of his sales numbers there. The museums only receive 70% of their funding from the government so the gift shop sales, etc, are needed to make up the other 30%, and Kenny is glad to help out. REVIEWS...
